WUMFA Judging/Evaluation Course
February 20th & 21st

This class is being offered to CFE instructors and/or any other professional/AIFD/CFD member of WUMFA who would like to become accredited in being a contest design judge for WUMFA conventions.
“Accredited Judges” will be required for evaluating all WUMFA design contests beginning in 2010.

The class will include:

Learning about judging and evaluations, including different ways to approach the tasks. Each participant will make a fresh design. Participants will evaluate each other’s design after the instructor does some evaluations. Several evaluation forms will be used (to include the old FTD Master Designer, several state evaluation forms, and SAF Designer Cup competition). An evaluation form will be created for WUMFA from this core group of participants. This class, (which was originally taught at Mississippi State University by Ralph Null, AIFD) will be taught by Ardith Beveridge, AIFD.

Students will need to bring:

A fresh “Easter table centerpiece” for technical evaluation

  • $30.00 wholesale cost limit on the centerpiece
  • Available space use 24”x18”, no height restriction
  • No props will be allowed
  • No outlet lights (non electrical) permitted
  • The design will need a typed or legible 3x5 card listing
    the wholesale costs of all materials used in arrangement.
  • Do not include your name or shop name on the card
  • A designer number will be assigned to each student

Rooms are $70 per. night. There is a room block under WUMFA for Saturday night, February 20th.

Please note new registration policy:
Advance registration and pre-payment for all CFE courses is required one week (7 days) prior to each class. Any registration requests that come in after the cut-off date will be placed on a waiting list. Walk-ins will no longer be accepted, all individuals must call in advance to see if there is space available in the class before they arrive on-site. Refunds may be requested up to three days prior to the class. If someone requests a refund, and there is someone to fill their spot on the waiting list, their fee will be refunded in full.  If a refund is requested within the three-day period, and no one is on a waiting list, then a refund will not be offered (special exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis).
