Annual Convention
This committee plans the programs for the Annual Convention. The primary planning meeting takes place in January with an additional meeting or two to finalize details. On site, this committee is responsible for assisting the designers with all aspects of their show as well as the coordination to ensure a smooth flow for the stage programs.
Auction
This committee actively participates at the Annual Convention by assisting with left-over product. No meetings are held. On site, committee members arrange product to be sold for auction.
Constitution & Bylaws
This committee prepares Bylaws changes and typically meets via conference call one to two times per year.
Decoration
This committee is active at the Annual Convention. They are responsible for incorporating the convention theme into décor throughout the event including the hotel lobby, registration lobby, luncheon and VIP arrangments.
Design Contest
This committee is active at the Annual Conventions. The committee meets once or twice per year to determine the design competition categories for both events. The committee is active on site for the convention to check in design pieces, coordinate the judging and award prizes.
Educational Development
This committee meets three to four times per year to review the Center For Education and make suggestions for future courses.
Membership
This committee meets three to four times to review the current membership status of the association and to determine methods to retain current members and recruit new members.
Recognition
The committee will be responsible for nominating individuals for recognition. The general membership is welcome to nominate individuals at any time during the year. Those nominated will be reviewed by the committee and those selected for recognition will be honored at the Convention. Categories and nomination forms are available through the WUMFA office.
Scholarship
This committee works with the donors of scholarship monies. There are scholarships’ available to those interested in the floral industry. 2011 Scholarships are available. Please log onto WUMFA’s website: www.wumfa.org for more complete information.
Trade Fair
This committee meets one to two times per year to bring in vendors to demonstrate and sell product at the Annual Convention. They also review ways to increase vendor's exposure to the attendees. On site, they welcome the vendors and make certain their needs are met and that trade show rules are enforced.
Website
Review and edit website. Work to implement promotions of WUMFA events through the WUMFA website.
