DESCRIPTION:Regional Meeting / Workshop\n\n\n\nKeeping you at the forefront of the floral industry with Professional Development!\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n“Exciting Styles in Today’s Designs”\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLet’s dive into the world of innovative design styles that will transform ordinary into the extraordinary.  We’ll start by exploring design styles popular on social media sites.  Those designs will then be reinvented to become profitable designs sure to meet the demands of today’s floral client. We’ll focus on color\, techniques and the use of current products. \n\n\n\nKevin will demonstrate five different design and Students will complete one style using Smithers Oasis Midnight Foam and an Essential Container. Don’t miss this chance to learn\, network and share experience with industry peers!  This event is open to all industry members.  The hands-on workshop is available to the first 20 people who register. Cost to participate in the workshop is $50 for WUMFA members and $80 for non-members.  All attendees are welcome to watch the workshop and must preregister online.  So\, grab your creativity\, a dash of passion\, and register to attend today! \n\n\n\n*Students please bring your design knife\, a bunch cutter and if you have a Smithers Oasis Foam Knife that would good but not required. \n\n\n\nRegistration includes all flowers/supplies and refreshments. \n\n\n\n6:00 – 6:15 (workshop check in\, networking\, shopping) \n\n\n\n6:15 – 7:45 (workshop\, shopping)  \n\n\n\n7:45 – 8:00 (networking\, shopping\, wrap up) \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCOST: $50.00 member $80.00 non-member (All attendees are welcome to watch the workshop)REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON – REFUNDABLE! \n\n\n\nInstructor: Kevin Ylvisaker AIFD\, CAFA\, PFCI \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKevin comes to the floral industry with a background in art that includes a concentration in sculpture and weaving. He has been in the floral industry for more than fifty years. \n\n\n\nKevin is a freelance designer offering design shows\, trend consulting and personal tutored in store design programs. \n\n\n\n                He is an Oasis Design Director. He has worked on many projects for Smithers Oasis creating online videos\, designing for advertising campaigns and much more. \n\n\n\n                He is a former Teleflora Education Specialist. \n\n\n\nHe has been an Endorsed Designer for Design Master Color Tool. \n\n\n\nHe has worked with Accent Décor to produce designs for their catalogs\, their “T2” video series and set up their showrooms across the country. \n\n\n\nKevin is a certified member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) and is also a Past President of AIFD. He is a member of PFCI\, the Professional Floral Communicators International. He is a member of the Canadian Academy of Floral Artists (CAFA). Kevin is a past President of the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Florists Association (WUMFA). \n\n\n\n                Nationally he has designed and judged across the country for garden clubs\, wholesale houses\, state associations\, floral organizations and floral wire services. \n\n\n\n                Kevin was a member of the Design Team for the Inauguration of President George Bush Sr. in Washington DC 1989. He was a Design Team Captain for the Inauguration of President Bill Clinton in 1993 also in Washington DC. \n\n\n\n                He has presented international design programs and taught classes in England\, Ireland\, Japan\, Taiwan\, Singapore\, Canada\, Poland\, Russia and Puerto Rico. \n\n\n\n                Kevin was honored to be a Judge for the 1997 Tournament Of Roses Parade in Pasadena California. In 1999 he was a member of the floral design team for the Fiesta Float Company.
